<p>Two suspected online scammers have set up shadow organizations for housing and vehicle finance on well-known e-commerce platforms and bilked citizens out of billions of rupees, media reported.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Over 200 FIRS have been filed against unknown individuals, according to the victims, but no action has been done by law enforcement agencies (LEAs).&nbsp;</p>



<p>According to reports, the suspects attract customers by providing them with low-cost housing and automotive options through shadow firms on the country&#8217;s online shopping portals.&nbsp;</p>



<p>After receiving a down payment from the citizens, they deploy delaying tactics through convoluted contract conditions. Furthermore, if the victims file a complaint or an FIR with the police, the suspects constantly change the identities of the phony firms.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Furthermore, a lawsuit against such companies was transferred from the high court to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in 2021, but officials have made little headway.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Azhar Abbas Naqvi, one of the victims, stated that 716 people have fallen victim to such organizations, but no arrests have been made to collect the stolen funds.&nbsp;</p>



<p>“However, neither any of the main accused has been arrested, nor any victim’s money recovered so far,” added Naqvi.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The news organization made many phone calls to the suspects but was unsuccessful each time.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Earlier this year, The Federal Investigation Agency (<a href="http://propertymahir.com/tag/fia/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">FIA</a>) discovered a cryptocurrency scam in which billions of rupees were stolen from Pakistanis utilizing internet trading apps. </p>



<p>According to a media source, all of the applications were linked to Binance, the world&#8217;s top bitcoin exchange company. Scammers scammed Pakistanis of Rs18 billion, according to the report.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Binance&#8217;s general manager in Pakistan and its headquarters in the United States have received notifications from the FIA Cybercrime Wing.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Furthermore, the detectives suspect that terror financing and money laundering were taking place through the use of Bitcoin.&nbsp;</p>



<p>A total of 11 mobile applications were implicated in online fraud involving Pakistanis, as per the reports.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Karachi Neighborhood Improvement Project (KNIP) costing $86 million is expected to be reformed for the third time by extending the deadline to June 2023, World Bank revealed.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The proposed seven-month extension of the credit closing date (to June 30, 2023) will allow enough time to complete the remaining activities of Component 1, particularly Phase 2 and emergency works. The bank will accept a time-bound implementation plan developed by the project agencies to finish the remaining project operations.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The report outlines the implementation status of the three project components.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Component 1: Improvements to Public Space and Mobility in Selected Neighborhoods ($70 million).&nbsp;</p>



<p>This component&#8217;s civil works were separated into two phases. The first phase of work, which included improving public spaces in the Saddar, Malir, and Korangi neighborhoods, was completed in December 2020. These renovated public areas benefit an estimated 362,000 residents (more than 36% of the total project objective). Phase 2 work ($24.6 million) is under underway and will take another four to six months to complete.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Component 2: $10 million in support for improved administrative services and city capacity development.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Moreover, the main focus of this component&#8217;s assistance was the automation of construction permits and business registration in <a href="http://propertymahir.com/tag/karachi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Karachi</a>. The project assisted other provincial agencies in the design and implementation of the Sindh Provincial Electronic One-Stop Shop (PEOSS) for business licenses and e-licensing. The number of days necessary to form a firm in Karachi has lowered from 18 in 2017 to 16.5 in 2020 as a result of this action. The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) completed the automation of construction permit processes in June 2022. This component also funded SBCA complaint management and resolution, as well as capacity building. </p>



<p>Component 3: Implementation Support and Technical Assistance ($5 million).&nbsp;</p>



<p>The GoS Planning &amp; Development Department has formed a project implementation unit (PIU) (P&amp;D). Training activities have been carried out to improve the capacity of the PIU and other implementing organizations in essential project management skills such as stakeholder consultation and participatory development, environmental and social protection, procurement, and financial management.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA) issued a work order for the restoration and building of CBD Boulevard and the Kalma Chowk Underpass project, according to news sources.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Under the plan, the CBD has encouraged the municipal administration to design a traffic diversion strategy and restrict motors coming and leaving towards the Center Point and Main Boulevard. During the first phase of the reconstruction, the administration has chosen to close the Kalma Chowk Underpass to all traffic for a month.&nbsp;</p>



<p>•      One side of Main Boulevard will be open to traffic between Barkat Market to Liberty Market while construction is underway.&nbsp;</p>



<p>•      The Service Lane will remain open to traffic from Ali Zaib Road, Barkat Market, Firdous Market,  and Ferozepur Road.&nbsp;</p>



<p>•      Traffic will be detoured around Gaddafi Stadium from Model Town to Liberty.&nbsp;</p>



<p>•      The proposal also features a clear path for the Falcon Society residents.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Moreover, the sources said that in order to avoid inconvenience for commuters, the authorities intend to close the roads for a set period of time-based on the progress of the construction work.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Last month, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi laid the foundation for the rebuilding of the Kalma Chowk underpass in order to address the city&#8217;s growing traffic difficulties.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The project, according to reports, will take 10 months to complete and will cost PKR 4.2 billion. The project will begin with the Kalma Chowk Underpass, which will be separated from the first underpass access to Lahore&#8217;s Central Business District. Another underpass will be built on the way from Centre Point to Firdous Market.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Furthermore, commuters and citizens will have access to the following provisions:&nbsp;</p>



<p>•      A daily traffic handling capability of nearly 250,000 vehicles&nbsp;</p>



<p>•      LED streetlights&nbsp;</p>

<p>In Balochistan&#8217;s Lasbela District, Sonmiani Beach is located near Sonmiani Bay. The shelf that encircles the Bay is 125.25 sq km in size and is 80 km wide. <p>Sonmiani Beach has a variety of fish species including the Portuguese man-of-war. Among the numerous invertebrate species found there are protozoa, annelids, and mollusks.&nbsp;</p>



<p>According to the sources, there are numerous marine plants in the area. More than 350 distinct fish species are known to exist in the region. <p>The Lahore Central Business District Development Authority (LCBDDA) has announced to the construction of an ‘Authority Square’ in National Bank Park, as reported by news sources.&nbsp;</p>



<p>As per the details given by the authority, the ‘Authority Square’ would be established to provide a quality recreational area for the metropolis’s families and people. It was revealed that the project will be developed according to international standards and building codes, making it a one-of-a-kind urban infrastructure in the area.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The project will also include digital LED billboard panels and pavements on the newly approved CBDAA main boulevard.&nbsp;</p>



<p>It is to be mentioned here that CBD is the country’s first eco-friendly and long-term initiative. The mega-project also comprises the construction of <a href="http://propertymahir.com/tag/lahore/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lahore</a>’s first downtown, which will have skyscrapers and corporate complexes with environment-friendly designs. </p>



<p>In addition, CBD Punjab is making a significant contribution to Pakistan&#8217;s smart and modern urbanization and has thus integrated sources to build a business community like no other in the country or region.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Last month, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi had a high-level meeting with Lahore Central Business District Development Authority (LCBDDA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin and was given a briefing about the potential of the Central Business District (CBD) in the provincial capital, as per the news sources.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Punjab CM was briefed that the authority seeks to ensure a ‘bespoke and innovative real estate supply’ to add to national development. Elahi was also informed that the project provides huge investment scope and has become a purpose to attract foreign and national investors. The project was regarded as a game changer that will reshape the province&#8217;s fate by attracting investment, generating revenue, and reducing unemployment.&nbsp;</p>



<p>During the meeting, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi directed that a detailed foolproof monitoring system be established for all public relief projects in the province, which he will personally supervise.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Prime Minister of Azad Jammu &amp; Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan laid the foundation stone of a free-of-cost <a href="http://propertymahir.com/tag/housing-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">housing project</a> for the heirs of martyrs, poor and orphan children and families. </p>



<p>The housing project is the first of its kind in AJK, and it was developed in collaboration with the Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT). This initiative will build separate colonies of 500 houses in Azad Kashmir&#8217;s four districts of Neelam, Kotli, Bagh, and Mirpur.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The initiative will be a joint effort between the KROT and the AJK government, with each bearing an equal share of the costs.&nbsp;</p>



<p> Furthermore, it was announced that the aforementioned homes will be distributed evenly based on the government&#8217;s assessment, while priority will be given to families of martyrs killed in shelling along the Line of Control (LoC). the premier also announced the development of protective bunkers along the LOC to protect people from intentional violations of the ceasefire.&nbsp;</p>



<p>He noted that the initiatives were started by the government to honor the contributions of martyrs to the land.&nbsp;</p>



<p>It must be noted that the AJK is an autonomous region of Pakistan, having its own political structure and distinct character. This housing project is also the state&#8217;s first attempt to provide people with housing.&nbsp;</p>



<p>In addition, last month, a commercial helicopter flight service was launched by President Dr. Arif Alvi in Bagh to promote tourism in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).&nbsp;</p>



<p>President Alvi stated at the launch ceremony of the helicopter flight service &#8216;Kashmir Air&#8217; that AJK had been blessed with enormous tourism potential because of its abundant natural splendor. He requested the private sector to steer the region&#8217;s tourism development.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The president, during his visit to AJK, advised the government to develop and implement advanced tourism-friendly policies that will attract private sector investment and promote sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Multan announced the opening of the Shah Rukn-e-Alam (SRA) gate soon.&nbsp;</p>



<p>According to the details revealed by the authority, the SRA gate will offer a new gateway to the city of Saints. After the opening of the said gate on the National Highway (N-5), <a href="http://propertymahir.com/tag/dha-multan/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">DHA Multan </a>will be directly connected to Faisalabad-Multan Motorway (M-4); cutting down the traveling distance towards Lahore and Islamabad. </p>



<p>It is to be mentioned that the authority’s administration has termed the project a ‘game changer’ as will improve road connectivity. Further details unveiled that the Rehmat Ali Avenue will link DHA Multan, from Pakistan Square (located at the junction of 5 sectors) to Khanewal Interchange on M-4 through the SRA gate.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Moreover, with the intention to implement customer-friendly policies, DHA Multan has announced a surcharge waiver incentive scheme for all categories of plots and villas. Sources said that members of all categories of plots and villas are excused from the surcharge. The authority emphasized that customer satisfaction is the primary goal of its policies. The particulars of the surcharge waiver plan are as follows:&nbsp;</p>



<p>1.    100% surcharge waived on payment of all installments due until September 30, 2022&nbsp;</p>



<p>2.    Adjustment of the owner&#8217;s surcharge&nbsp;</p>



<p>In another development, the authority has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GFS Builders &amp; Developers to construct low-cost housing units in Sector B1.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Following this agreement, the GFS Builders &amp; Developers will develop 150 villas of 10-marla in Sector B1. The administration is following through on its promise to provide affordable housing for all residents. The housing society, which has dubbed this year &#8216;A Year of Progression,&#8217; provides modern amenities for a comfortable lifestyle.&nbsp;</p>



<p>In addition, Al Mannan Builders and Platinum Builders have signed similar agreements with the DHA Multan administration. The DHA management reiterated its commitment to developing investment-friendly projects for its valued members.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The grey structure of 680 apartments in the Lifestyle Residency project is nearing completion, a senior official with the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) told the media.&nbsp;</p>



<p>According to the sources, voting for the entire lot of 1,148 flats would be done collectively in order to reduce the possibility of discrimination among the members.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The FGEHA official further explained, “As soon as civil work on the remaining apartments completes and the units get into physical shape, the FGEHA would hold the balloting ceremony.”&nbsp;</p>



<p>He added that all the members had agreed to the project’s terms and conditions, as stated in the Provisional Offer Letter (POL) that, “in case of any delay in handing over possession of apartment due to unavoidable circumstances, the allottee shall not be entitled to claim compensation from the construction company.”&nbsp;</p>



<p>Responding to a question about the project’s delay, the FGEHA official stated that the entire cost of the project unusually increased as a result of the rise in the pricing of construction supplies and vowed that the project would be completed soon.&nbsp;</p>



<p>It is to be mentioned that Lifestyle Residency Islamabad is a high-rise luxury residential apartment project being developed in sectors G-13/1 and G-13/4 by FGHEHA, the Ministry of Housing and Works, and EHFPRO.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Recently, the Federal Secretary, Iftikhar Ali Shallwani, also gave FGEHA the go-ahead to resume and accelerate the pace of development work at the Lifestyle Residency Apartments of Lahore.&nbsp;</p>



<p> Moreover, FGEHA and the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government agreed to launch a housing project for the locals in Rawalakot, news sources reported.&nbsp;</p>



<p>In this regard, an agreement has been signed between the two parties to bridge the housing gap for the people of the valley. The agreement says that the FGEHA would offer technical and managerial assistance regarding planning and designing cost estimates, engineering, development work’s execution, and supervision.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The board of Capital Development Authority (CDA) gave approval to revision of the layout plan of the Northern Strip of sectors E-11 and C-14.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The CDA board meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Mohammad Usman and discussed several agenda items. The meeting approved the revision of the layout plan of the E-11 Northern Strip, permitting 103 commercial and apartment plots in place of the site earlier reserved for high-rise apartment projects.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The board also announced that the bylaws of the Markaz of Islamabad should be applied to the said plots.&nbsp;</p>



<p>In this regard, CDA officials stated that E-11 was a fast-developing sector and the said plots in total had the ability to produce over Rs40 billion. They added it was expected that in the forthcoming auction, the authority would put the first batch of the said plots for auction.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Moreover, the meeting also approved the revised layout plan of C-14, increasing the number of plots of size 50&#215;90, from 542 to 601. The board also sanctioned an auction of plots for the construction of a five-star hotel adjacent to the Marriott Hotel in F-5.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Recently, the officials of CDA decided in favor of the civic body and recommended going for auction after getting approval from the federal government. Consequently, the matter was placed before the board to get its consent for sending the summary to the federal government.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The CDA officials went on to say that after receiving approval from the government, the civic body would auction off this plot because the capital&#8217;s growing population necessitated the urgent need for new hotels.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Similarly, the meeting also approved policy changes for dealing with cases involving those affected by land acquisition. According to sources, the board also agreed to reduce the bus fare (shuttle service from Bhara Kahu bazaar to terminal of green bus service) from Rs20 to Rs15.</p>
