According to the details, the premier issued an emergency announcement to complete the under-constructed jail as early as possible. The notification issued said that the Shehbaz Sharif urged to complete the project in the coming year.

In this regard, he has formulated a six-member committee headed by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah to effectively assess the jail project, and an order has been released with the signatures of Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr. Tauqeer Shah.

The jail is being built adjacent to the motorway at Sector H-16, where 90 acres of land is assigned for the construction. After its construction, an estimated 2,000 prisoners will be kept in the jail. The model prison will consist of a mosque, school, training centers, and sports grounds.

The chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Amir Ali, and the secretaries of housing, planning, and chief commissioner Islamabad are also part of the committee.

The jail is being developed of the international standard. Because of the non-availability of jails in the federal capital, the criminals are being kept at the Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.

Last week, Shehbaz Sharif attended the passing out parade at Pakistan Naval Academy and praised the force stating that Pakistan Navy plays an important in protecting maritime borders.

Addressing the ceremony, PM opined that the Navy is a strong force guarding the borders of the country.

“We believe in peace, coexistence, and good relations with our neighbors,” he said.

Furthermore, Shehbaz Sharif also applauded the parents of the cadets and midshipmen who had received the commission and stated that it was a matter of pride to be a part of the Passing out Parade.
