Capital Development Authority (CDA) had accomplished almost 60 percent of earthwork on more than 350 kanals of land recently relinquished by the authority from the occupiers at sector E-12.

While talking with the media, the CDA spokesman said that the excavation work for underground water supply including sewerage network and other allied facilities was in full swing while earthwork on the rest of the land would be completed shortly.

He informed that the authority’s management was paying full attention to the development of stalled sectors to fulfill the housing needs of the city.

He further said almost 22 percent of the earthwork on the 1.75 km road in sector I-12/2 had also been completed. The remaining development works comprising cleavers would be started in near future after the completion of the earthwork.

The federal apex agency, he continued, had ordered the concerned departments to finalize the development works in both the sectors within the given stipulated time so that the allottees could construct houses on their land.

It is worth mentioning that once the development works had been completed, 6000 allottees in sector I-12 while more than 3000 allottees in sector E-12 would be able to construct houses on their plots.

In May this year, the development work of the stalled E-12 sector was restarted as it was launched in 1989 but people were much-awaited to get possession of their developed plots.

“Today, we have restarted development work. We were directed to complete the work in the shortest possible time. And meanwhile, the tendering process of awarding work in sub-sector 4, is in its final stage and soon we will start development work there too. Later on, we will do this in sub-sector 1,” a CDA engineer said. Regarding the development work, he added that “We have been directed by CDA’s management to continue development work without any break and the enforcement wing has been directed to help us regularly.”
